John and Sandra Hewinson, who are the owner operators and directors of the company, established John Hewinson Canvas Ltd in 1987.

The company is a manufacturing business making a wide range of outdoor related products for homes and businesses. Our main products are shade/sun sails, veranda curtains, boat covers, tarpaulins, caravan awnings, event tents and more. We also offer a full repair and maintenance service on these types of products.

In 2008 we won the Best Small Business Award at the Northland Business Excellence Awards. We are naturally extremely proud of this award, this is recognition of the calibre of work we produce, the staff we employ, and the systems we have in place.

Our business industry is unique as we do not buy in any partly or fully completed products. We custom make all products ourselves at our premises to suit the requirements of the customer. We offer a full design, measure and quote service, which usually involves visiting the customers home, premises or boat to discuss their requirements.

We currently employ three full time and two part time staff.
